The Extraordinary Form of the Mass (Latin Mass) at Holy Family in Saginaw is ongoing at 3:00pm with Rosary to be recited around 2:30pm. All are welcome. The sacrament of Confession will be available starting April 19 at 2:30pm.
With only a few interruptions, we have had the Traditional Latin Mass (TLM) at Holy Family beginning in December 2020, and is ongoing currently. The first celebrant of the first TLM since Vatican II was Father Christopher Coman with a rotation of a few other celebrants. Currently, Father Coman is the current presiding priest for the TLM.
Add on: As of May 1, 2026, we must do 1 Novus Ordo Mass in Latin 1 time a month as we have gotten our dispensation from Rome to continue to have the Traditional Latin Mass at Holy Family. This particular Mass will be the 1st Sunday of each month. Father will do the Mass at the High Altar facing liturgical east using the Communion Rail for distribution of Holy Communion among other things. Readings, hymns and the homily will be in English (and using the readings from the regular Novus Ordo Mass). As always, worship aids will be available. The Traditional Latin Mass in Extraordinary Form will be on the remaining Sundays of each month.
The album here is from the very first TLM held in December 2020 with Father Coman as the celebrant with Bishop Gruss giving the homily.
The link here has some homilies and other things videoed by a parishioner with a playlist with outside Catholic content.
The picture below is from “Extraordinary Faith” who trained Father Coman to offer the TLM among many other priests all over.

A few FAQs:
Does this Mass count for my Sunday obligation? Yes it does
Are females required to veil, I see many in veils? Not required but you can do so in either form of the Mass
Dress code? The Extraordinary Form is usually a bit more formal compared to the Novus Ordo Mass. If it is more suited for a business casual or business professional work place, that is the general expectation for clothing for all. Anything revealing, short, sporty, super casual, tight, etc should not be worn.
Children welcome? Yes, all ages are welcome. All walks of life: Young and old. Married and unmarried. Widows and widowers, etc.
Holy Communion reception? Only at the rail & on the tongue, and given by the priest. If you cannot go to the rail, you can go to the side by St Joseph to receive or if you cannot come up, please let an usher know so Holy Communion can be brought to you.
I don’t know Latin? Not all can read, speak and/or understand it. But we do have worship aids, and many helpful people here to guide you along in some way.
